Wicked Weather Sunday
Last week the weather wasn't as nice as it typically is in sunny San Diego. We hit highs most days of about 55-62F. Granted, that's a lot warmer than home, but it's still pretty chilly for outdoor activities. However, the weekend arrived and with it came some beautiful warm weather and plenty of sun.Saturday, we didn't see much of the weather. We slept in until 1:30 in the afternoon and after our lazy morning/afternoon we vegged on the couch for a few hours. After two hours and a bit of "Sex in the City", Season 1, we started to get ready for our Stantec party. Dinner was good, though nothing like the Calgary or Edmonton parties. We only had about 40 people at the party which made for a small affair but that way, everyone took home a gift. I have exchanged mine, already, and now I've got myself a brand new DVD rack.
Sunday was a different story. We woke up around 11am and vegged again for an hour or so in front of the TV. Then it was off to La Jolla to see La Jolla cove's Cave. The sun was streaming in the mouth of the cave which made it very difficult to take pictures, but I gave it a shot, just for you!
After climbing back out of the cave, 145 steps, and one hell of a cardio work out, later we walked up the cliff which hangs over the cave and saw a birds eye view of the cove. Talk about beautiful!
After breakfast with a view of the ocean we took a short stroll back to the car and enjoyed the view for another 15 minutes while we finished our coffees. Then it was off to Fry's, like a Best Buy, but bigger. Oh yes, bigger.
Dinner consisted of appetizer's of garlic-butter-mozzarella mushroom caps, homemade guacamole followed by homemade pizzas on pita shells and for dessert - homemade rice krispie squares with M&M's. I would've done smarties but those don't exist in the States.
That's 'bout it. As soon as I get the photos downloaded (camera trouble) I'll share my views with you.
Miss you all!
